I’ve decided to reserve Mondays for something motivating to kick off the week.
It may be a quote, an image, a writing challenge, or a post. It’s always good to begin a new week charged for writing or, at the very least, thinking about writing.
This Monday, it’s a quote:
“Failure is the condiment that gives success its flavor.”
– Truman Capote
It may seem a little strange to kick off the week with a quote about failure, but I love this quote.
Here’s why:
It’s not that I like failing in anything I do, but I’ve come to accept that whether it be juggling, writing, or looking for a new job, I’m going to drop things and face rejection.
Writers challenge themselves daily–they don’t take the easy way out.
Most people give up when things are difficult.
The flavor of success isn’t so much the feeling of relief that comes with selling writing after repeated failures, but in seeing your hard work finally pay off.
I have a lot of hard work ahead of me this week, but I know it will all taste good in the coming weeks, months, and maybe even years.
I hope everybody has a fun and productive week!

I’m hoping to have fun and be more productive this week, so thanks! I’m also trying not to get too upset about the possibility of failure with my upcoming projects. It’s just what happens sometimes, and I can only hope I will learn something from my mistake and move on.
Good luck to you as well!
