I slacked off on the blog this week because we’ve been having ice and snow in north Texas and I’ve been having a blast enjoying the weather.
This is what I did today instead of updating the blog (and yes, that’s a kilt):

I had a blast! I’m just glad we got actual snow… the ice was not fun, but having the snow helped being able to walk without sliding around constantly.

We’ve been digging out of a big snow storm here in Kansas City. Up to two feet in some places, which is a lot for us.
My nephew at Northwestern University wears a kilt. I guess they are more common that one would imagine.

Yep.

Paul,
We don’t get too much snow in Texas. I grew up in Chicago (and lived in Olathe, Ks for awhile), so I was used to colder temperatures, deeper snow, and the dreaded KC ice storms. (We DO get ice storms in Texas; in fact, the first several days of the storm in the video was ice.)
I miss playing in the snow, but I wouldn’t want to commute in it.
If I could live someplace where the daily temperatures were in the low to mid 40s with highs in the mid 60s with a nearby beach that never got above 72 degrees and near snowy mountains where it never got colder than a windless 20-degree day, I’d be in Heaven!

Cynthia,
Agreed: ice = no fun. Especially since we have no way of clearing roads in Texas. To be below freezing for more than a day or two is rare. A week was almost unheard of!
